I have not blogged in months and it is mostly because I was having technical difficulties with getting pictures to upload. I also didn't have a ton of time to quilt during the last couple of months of the school year. Our homeschool year ended last Friday, so I can get back to my love of quilting! Here are a few things I've finished recently. I'm participating in a UFO contest at my LQS, so I'm trying to get as many of my UFOs completed as I can by the end of the year. I'm making pretty good progress!
First up is a Mod Circles baby quilt. I started this in the winter/spring of 2012 and I finished it at the end of April. I have no idea who it will belong to, but for now it will sit in my "finished" pile.
Next is a quilt that I didn't piece, but I quilted & bound. This quilt was hand pieced by my Grandma. We don't know for sure when she made it, but I finally finished it just last week. I love how it turned out! I can't imagine doing all of that hand stitching!
I made this penguin pillow for my oldest DS, age 9, who adores penguins. Each of my kids has one of these pillows now. I need to get pics of the other 2.
I made this lap quilt for my Mom for Mother's Day this year. She has admired the quilt on our bed for quite some time, but the fabric was out of print and I couldn't find any more. I came across these charm packs by the same designer (Moda's Holly Taylor) at my LQS and I knew they were just meant for my Mom! She loves it!
I made this table runner for my Mother-in-Law for Mother's Day. She loves kokopelli & her dining room is almost the same color as this fabric. I figured she could use it on her kitchen island. She loved it as well!
I have more to share, but I need to get pictures taken first. I will try not to be a blog neglector this summer!
I am linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts for Finish It Up Friday, May 24, 2013.

Your mod circles are amazing.
ReplyDeletethe Mod Circles baby quilt is a very interesting pattern - I'm sure it will make a little one very happy :) How lovely to be able to finish one of your Grandmother's quilts! I have a son who loves penguins, too. I really should get back to sewing the penguin quilt that is buried in my WIP stack soon...
ReplyDeleteLove the Mod Baby Quilt finish, very fun pattern with great colors and quilting. I am also impressed with the hand work your grandmother did on the second quilt. I couldn't imagine having the patience. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteThe circle quilt is my favorite. Love how the quilting brings out the shapes!
